At Ruxer Truck Center, we want you to know how to overcome as many vehicle emergency situations as possible. One such emergency is the presence of a flat tire while traveling down a road or highway. Fortunately, this is something that you can fix on your own with basic tools.

First, you're going to put the car on a flat surface and lift it with a jack. Then, you are going to loosen the lug nuts and take the wheel off. Finally, you can replace the wheel with a donut or spare tire, tighten the lug nuts and lower the car back to the ground.

From there, you can either take the car to a service center for more work or continue home or to another destination. Typically, a donut will last for about 50 to 55 miles before it needs to be replaced.
