Flat tires are a common problem for drivers. They can happen anytime and at any location, but it's important to know how to change the tire fast! The following steps will show you how to replace a flat tire the right way:

1) Find an appropriate place. If you're on the side of the road or in your driveway, make sure there are no hazards around you before proceeding with changing your tire.

2) Remove all lug nuts from lugs using a lug wrench until they loosen enough that you can remove them by hand. Place them in order so that they don't become mixed up when re-installing them later on.

3) Raise car off ground by jacking it up. Place a block of wood on the jack so that you don't damage your car's undercarriage.

4) Pull off hub cap or wheel cover and remove the flat tire from the axle by turning it to the right. If you have trouble doing this, use a rubber mallet to give yourself an extra push until it comes loose.

5) Take off the spare tire and place it to the side for later.

6) Inspect your flat tire. Look at the inside of the tire down near the rim to see if there's anything stuck in there, such as a nail or screw that caused you to get a flat.
